The 11th annual Women’s Voices Now Film Festival, promoting emerging women filmmakers creating social-change films that advocate for girls’ and women’s rights around the world, awarding a total of $13,000 in cash prizes to winning filmmakers, is in the books and the winning films have been selected by the jury.
The top documentary feature winner is “Angels of Sinjar,” directed by Hanna Polak, which was awarded $3,500. Among the other winners was “We Iranian Women,” “Standing With Moms,” “Bangla Surf Girls,” “Chalk Back,” “Urban Amazons,” “Making Waves” and “More Than Milk.”
The Leslie J. Sacks Grand Prize Winner “Angeles of Sinjar” will be screened live at the Renberg Theater, located at 1125 N. McCadden Place, Sept. 21. Tickets will go on sale in August 2025.
