LA28 unveiled a comprehensive 2028 Olympic venue plan on April 15, following approval from the International Olympic Committee Executive Board.

“We’ve promised the world an incredible Olympic Games and we’re proud to share the plan that will make it happen,” LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover said.

LA28 will stage events across the entire city and county. The Olympic footprint will extend north to the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area, which will host Olympic events for the first time in 2028. Modern Pentathlon and 3×3 Basketball will join high-energy disciplines including BMX Freestyle, BMX Racing, Skateboarding Park and Skateboarding Street at the venue. Also in the San Fernando Valley, Squash will make its Olympic debut at Courthouse Square on the Universal Studios Lot.

Venice Beach will serve as the new home of Triathlon and will host the official starting locations for the Marathon and Cycling Road courses. Rhythmic Gymnastics will take place at the USC Sports Center, one of the main competition zones in Los Angeles, adjacent to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The relocation aligns with LA28’s commitment to maximize the use of existing world-class facilities, as the USC Sports Center will also stage events for Badminton.

Boxing, reinstated to the 2028 sport program by the IOC, will hold preliminary matches in the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, and final stages Crypto.com Arena. The Peacock Theater will also host Weightlifting, and Crypto.com Arena will host Artistic Gymnastics and Trampoline.

Baseball makes its Olympic return in Dodger Stadium. The surfing competition will be held at Trestles Beach in San Clemente. Cricket comes to the Olympic stage for the first time in more than a century, with matches at the Fairgrounds in Pomona.

Long Beach will host Beach Volleyball at Alamitos Beach. Open Water Swimming and Coastal Rowing will be held at the nearby Waterfront in Long Beach.

Sport Climbing will take place in the Long Beach Convention Center lot. The city of Carson will host a variety of Olympic events including Archery and the Rugby Sevens tournament.

Equestrian makes its return to Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Volleyball will be held in the Arena in Anaheim, also known as the Honda Center, which is hosting Olympic events for the first time.
