The City of STEM + Los Angeles Maker Faire will be held on Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Exposition Park’s South Lawn.

The free family-friendly event will include activations from Hot Wheels by Mattel, Angel City Football Club and a career lounge powered by Microsoft. More than 230 exhibitors from across California will participate in the event, which includes hands-on activities, unique experiments, unexpected demonstrations and mind-expanding workshops. Scientist and bestselling author Jorge Cham will speak on the main stage and 100 students will receive a free copy of his book “Oliver’s Great Big Universe.” Attendees are invited to see TV host and science educator Jason Latimer, who will combine science and magic with his “Impossible Science” show.

The Los Angeles Maker Faire is a festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the maker movement. Tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students and commercial exhibitors come together to show what they have made and share what they learned.

The event is supported by Los Angeles City Councilmembers Adrin Nazarian, 2nd District; Nithya Raman, 4th District; and Curren Price, 9th District, as well as Microsoft, the SNAP Foundation, Metro, Financial Partners Credit Union, Blue Origin Club for the Future, Southern California Edison, the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and the cities of Downey and Los Angeles.
