Re “Nazarian outlines mayoral vision,” April 10 issue

As a resident of Beverly Hills, I was encouraged to read two of our new mayor’s initiatives: Mayor Sharona Nazarian’s commitment to protecting reproductive rights and her encouragement of public participation in government and community engagement.

Given the outcry from residents in Beverly Hills and from neighboring residents regarding the city’s actions against DuPont, a specialized reproductive health care clinic, I assume that Mayor Nazarian is not “talking the talk” but will “walk the walk.”

If committed to hearing from residents and committed to women’s rights, then the residents of Beverly Hills and the California voters can anticipate the following from her leadership: The city will drop the anti SLAPP motion in June against DuPont Clinic and the $400,000 for reimbursement of legal fees [and] the city will fairly resolve the suit with DuPont so the clinic can open and be welcomed to operate somewhere in Beverly Hills or Los Angeles.

It is refreshing to see any person and especially a representative to have the moral courage to take accountability and “right a wrong.”

I look forward to seeing these initiatives and actions enacted very soon under our new mayor’s direction.
