Crews are trimming trees in Hancock Park, removing deadwood and dangerous limbs on public property near roads. Mariposa Tree Service is conducting the work, which started on March 17 on June Street. The work is not aesthetic pruning, instead focusing on safety. The crews will attempt to shape each tree that is cut, and healthy trees will not be pruned. The Hancock Park Homeowners Association will update residents as the trimming progresses to adjacent streets including Rosewood Avenue, Oakwood Avenue, Highland Avenue, Beverly Boulevard, Clinton Street, Wilcox Avenue, Cahuenga Boulevard, Lillian Way and Rossmore Avenue. Temporary no parking signs will be posted on streets prior to the tree work.
The Hancock Park Homeowners Association is also holding a virtual town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. The special guest will be Senior Lead Officer Tyler Shuck, of the LAPD’s Wilshire Division, who will provide updates on burglaries and crimes such as copper wire theft in the Hancock Park and Larchmont Village communities.
