Television City hosted the 23rd annual Purim Extravaganza on March 13 for Kol Yakov Yehudah, an after-school nonprofit and neighborhood youth group.

The holiday of Purim celebrates the Jewish people of ancient Persia (now Iran) being saved from death by the bravery of Queen Esther and her uncle Mordechai. Television City hosted the event for a second year. Kol Yakov Yehudah continues to expand, and the Purim celebration outgrew previous venues. The program was founded by Rabbi Mendel Duchman and is run by Srula and Dovber Chaiton.

The Purim celebration was held on historic Stage 33 – the former home of “The Carol Burnett Show.”

“We think Ms. Burnett would approve of filling her stage with hundreds of kids enjoying a variety show,” said Adeena Bleich, vice president of community relations for Television City.
