Re “ACLU responds to BHUSD controversy; Bregy resigns,” Feb. 27 issue
Beverly Press does it again!
Congratulations on excellent reporting of this extremely important story unfolding within the secretive Beverly Hills Board of Education.
Where there should be transparency, there is illicit clandestine secret actions and discussion by the board. Where there is abusive behavior of high school students by lead administrators, there is an “attitude” of indignation by the board.
Where parents and students come to voice their comment and opinion at their abuse of civil rights and speech, this board cuts public speaking time and removes speakers who they know in advance are controversial. Where this board should be responsive and proactive to the parents, students and residents who elected them, this board operates independently, violating students’ rights, blacking out negative news transmission of their own student operated KBEV television broadcast and manipulating the Brown Act, which was instituted for the very purpose of protecting the rights of citizens against exactly these specific violations by government.
This board, with the exception of board member Russell Stuart, who was the only one to respond to the out of control spending, is out of control and needs to resign!
