The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is offering updates on construction of the D Line subway extension project as work continues in February.

Street restoration is ongoing near the intersection Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue. Through March, Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction between Oxford Avenue and St. Andrews Place and left turns are restricted from westbound and eastbound Wilshire Boulevard to Western Avenue and from eastbound Wilshire Boulevard to northbound St. Andrews Place. The traffic pattern supports street restoration near the Wilshire/Western staging yard.

Street restoration is also ongoing around the Wilshire/La Brea subway station. Crews are working within K-rail work zones near the intersection. Construction is also ongoing underground on the station and above ground on the station entrance and exit and the northwest corner of Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue.

Crews are also working within a work zone on Wilshire Boulevard near Fairfax Avenue. Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction through March at La Jolla Avenue, where a K-rail enclosure is in place in the center of the Wilshire/La Jolla intersection. Crews are working on an underground cross passage between the tunnels in the area.

Near the Wilshire/La Cienega subway station, a K-rail work zone has been implemented on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards. A work zone is also in place along the east side of La Cienega Boulevard north of Wilshire Boulevard. The traffic control measures support ongoing civil restoration work including construction of new curbs, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and tree wells, as well as construction of the La Cienega station structure. Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards. Instrument-ation and utility work is also ongoing in the area.

Metro is planning to begin piling and potholing activities soon at the Wilshire/Rodeo station. Work will take place between Cañon and Beverly drives and involves the closure of a single curb lane on Wilshire Boulevard to install piles around the station box perimeter. Beverly Drive will be closed at Wilshire Boulevard when work takes place.

At the Century City/Constellation station, placement of structural concrete for the station is substantially complete and construction of the interior and roof structures is ongoing. Eastbound and westbound vehicle access on Constellation Boulevard is open between Century Park West and Century Park East. Motorists are advised about traffic lane closures in place on Constellation Boulevard.
