Beverly Vista Middle School welcomed families and future students to its open house on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The event provided an in-depth look at the innovation, dedication and strong sense of community that define BVMS, reaffirming why it was recognized as a distinguished School to Watch by the California League of Middle Schools.
The evening began with Best in Show, where incoming sixth-grade students and their families explored various academic and extracurricular programs through interactive information tables. Departments such as STEM, math, science, social studies, english, world languages, athletics, performing arts and visual arts showcased the diverse opportunities available at BVMS. Families engaged with educators and gained valuable insight into the school’s commitment to fostering student growth.
Following a brief transition, BVMS Connections allowed current students to lead their families on guided classroom visits, offering a firsthand look at their daily learning experiences. The portion of the evening highlighted the strong relationships between students, teachers and the broader BVMS community.
“BVMS is more than just a school – it’s a place where students thrive academically, socially and emotionally,” principal Rich Waters said. “Our open house was an incredible opportunity for families to witness firsthand the passion, innovation and excellence that make our school a ‘School to Watch’ and a truly special place to learn.”
