The city of West Hollywood will present a free four-workshop series Sewing Workshops for Drag Artists, led by West Hollywood Drag Laureate Pickle and professional sewing instructors.
The workshop series will take place on Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the West Hollywood Library Community Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. The workshop on Jan. 29 will take place at the San Vicente Room in the West Hollywood Park Aquatic and Recreation Center, located at 8750 El Tovar Place, adjacent to West Hollywood Library. Space is limited and RSVP is required at go.weho.org/drag.
Upon reaching capacity, a waitlist will be started for interested community members.
Workshop series participants will learn how to sew with professional sewing instructors. The workshop series will cover the basics of working with a sewing machine, making patterns and bringing creative visions to life. Sewing machines and basic materials will be provided, and all levels of experience are welcome. For more advanced sewers, there will be an additional instructor to assist with independent projects or to answer questions. All participants must bring their own fabrics.
