Metro is restoring sidewalks, curbs and streets along Wilshire Boulevard from Wilshire/Western to Wilshire/La Cienega as part of D Line subway extension construction.

Work continues in late December on the project, which runs from Wilshire/Western to the Westwood/VA Hospital station. Section One from Wilshire/Western to Wilshire/La Cienega will open at the end of 2025, Section Two to the Century City/Constellation station will open in 2026 and Section Three to the Westwood/VA Hospital station will open in 2027.

Street restoration is ongoing through January along Wilshire Boulevard at the eastern end near Wilshire/Western. Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction between Oxford Avenue and St. Andrews Place. Left turns are prohibited from Wilshire Boulevard to Western Avenue and from eastbound Wilshire Boulevard to northbound St. Andrews Place.

Work is also ongoing at street level near the Wilshire/La Brea and Wilshire/Fairfax subway stations. K-Rail work zones remain in place between Wilshire/La Brea and Wilshire/Detroit, and in the middle of Wilshire Boulevard between Courtyard Place and Masselin Avenue. Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction between Ridgely Drive and Curson Avenue. Left turns are prohibited along Wilshire Boulevard near the work zone.

Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction at La Jolla Avenue through March. A K-rail enclosure is located on the west side of the Wilshire/La Jolla intersection to accommodate cross passage work.

Work is ongoing at and around the Wilshire/La Cienega station. A K-rail work zone will remain in place along the north side of Wilshire Boulevard, which is reduced to two lanes in each direction between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards. Northbound La Cienega Boulevard will also be reduced to two lanes just north of Wilshire Boulevard.

At the Wilshire/Rodeo station, crews are working within the construction staging areas underground and from 10 p.m.-7 a.m. on certain sections of Wilshire Boulevard east of the station box. After the holidays, up to 18 full weekend street closures of Wilshire Boulevard are planned between Crescent and El Camino drives. The closures will facilitate deck removal and street restoration and will run from 8 p.m. on Friday through 7 a.m. the following Monday. Beverly Drive will also be closed at Wilshire Boulevard when work takes place. Detour routes will be implemented for eastbound and westbound traffic on Wilshire Boulevard.

At Century City/Constellation, the crews are working on the subway station and concrete placement, storm drain construction and side structure work. Partial traffic lane closures are in place on Constellation Boulevard for daytime station construction and material deliveries. Eastbound and westbound vehicle access on Constellation Boulevard is being maintained between Century Park West and Century Park East.

No work will occur on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the first night of Hanukkah (Dec. 25), New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
