Then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his former wife Maria Shriver visited St. Vincent Meals on Wheels in this photograph in the Nov. 23, 2006, issue of the Beverly Press and Park Labrea News. St. Vincent Meals on Wheels delivers more than 100,000 meals each month to homebound seniors, extending a lifeline to people often living in isolation. During their visit, Schwarzenegger and Shriver met with the late Sister Alice Marie Quinn, who founded St. Vincent Meals on Wheels in 1977. The organization, located at 2303 Miramar St. near the now-shuttered St. Vincent Medical Center, remains the largest Meals on Wheels program in America and is always seeking volunteers.
