The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is holding a meeting on D Line subway construction on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Gallery at Beverly Hills City Hall, 455 N. Rexford Drive. The meeting will focus on work in Beverly Hills at the Wilshire/La Cienega and Wilshire/Rodeo stations. For information, visit metro.net.
Street restoration work is ongoing at many locations along the route. Near Wilshire/Western, street restoration is expected to continue through January. Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction between Oxford Avenue and St. Andrews Place. Left turns are prohibited from Wilshire Boulevard to Western Avenue and from eastbound Wilshire Boulevard to northbound St. Andrews Place. The temporary traffic plan supports street restoration work near the Wilshire/Western construction yard.
Street level work is also ongoing around the Wilshire/La Brea and Wilshire/Fairfax subway stations. Through March 2025, a K-rail work zone is located in the middle of Wilshire Boulevard between Courtyard Place and Masselin Avenue to support construction in the tunnels below Wilshire Boulevard. Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction between Ridgely Drive and Curson Avenue, and left turns are prohibited along Wilshire Boulevard in the area.
Work is also occurring on Wilshire Boulevard near Fairfax Avenue. Through March, Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction at La Jolla Avenue. A K-rail enclosure is located on the west side of the Wilshire/La Jolla intersection to accommodate work in a cross passage between the tunnels.
At the Wilshire/La Cienega station, crews are working the construction staging areas and at street level along the north side of Wilshire Boulevard between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards. Crews will be restoring the streetscape in the area through early 2025. Intermittent lane closures may be in place along Wilshire Boulevard.
Farther west, crews have reopened Cañon Drive south of Wilshire Boulevard. Work is occurring within the staging yards for the Wilshire/Rodeo station and at street level in the area.
Metro is advising about deck removal work in early 2025 that will require up to 18 full weekend street closures on Wilshire Boulevard between Crescent and El Camino drives. The work may begin as early as Jan. 24, 2025. The street closures will run from 8 p.m. on Friday through 7 a.m. the following Monday. Detour routes will be implemented for eastbound and westbound traffic on Wilshire Boulevard.
At the Century City/ Constellation subway station, work continues in late November. Partial traffic lane closures are in place on Constellation Boulevard for station construction and material deliveries. Eastbound and westbound vehicle access on Constellation Boulevard is being maintained between Century Park West and Century Park East. Utility relocation work and street restoration is ongoing on Avenue of the Stars, south of Constellation Boulevard. All driveways are accessible in the area.
