The Beverly Hills City Council celebrated Mizrahi and Sephardic Heritage Month during its meeting on Nov. 19. Mayor Lester Friedman and the City Council recognized the rich cultural contributions of Mizrahi and Sephardic communities to the diversity of the city. At the meeting, Councilman Craig Corman, joined Susan Eshaghian, vice president of administration for the Iranian American Jewish Federation; Human Relations Commission member Vered Elkouby Nisim; Susan Azzizadeh, former president of the Iranian American Jewish Federation; Vice Mayor Sharona Nazarian; Sapir Taib, representing JIMENA Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa; Mayor Lester Friedman; Councilman John Mirisch; Zohreh Mizrahi, of the Iranian American Jewish Federation; Danna Balas, founder of Menchies Frozen Yogurt; Councilwoman Mary Wells and Dillon Hosier, CEO of ICAN: Israeli-American Civic Action Network.
