Beaches launches pop-up chef series
Beaches Tropicana, the premier beach-inspired destination for drinks and entertainment in West Hollywood, has announced the “Beaches Boardwalk: Pop-Up Chef Series,” held every week in October. The month-long culinary celebration will feature a diverse lineup of chefs, each bringing their own unique flavor and flair to the venue.
Inspired by the idea of strolling along a beachside boardwalk while savoring a variety of delicious eats, the Pop-Up Chef Series aims to create a fun and inviting atmosphere where food lovers and community members alike can gather, enjoy and connect over incredible food.
Menú-Eats by Chef Jazz will kick off the event Oct. 2-6, and again Oct. 16-20, with a focus on inclusivity for BIPOC communities through esilient, flavor-packed dishes inspired by Southern Californian Mexican cuisine. From Oct. 9-13, Takeover Barbecue by Pitmaster Darius will bring slow-smoked brisket and soul food-inspired side dishes that have become synonymous with authentic American barbecue. From Oct. 23-27, Slutty Sammy’s by Chef Sammy will close the series with bold sandwiches that create unforgettable culinary experiences.

Pink offerings for Breast Cancer Awareness
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica is spreading awareness of the worthy cause with two special offerings.
Continuing its ongoing partnership with local favorite Sweet Rose Creamery, Hotel Casa del Mar will offer a special Ice Cream Tart topped with an exclusive Sweet Rose Creamery strawberry rhubarb flavored ice cream. Available at Terrazza Restaurant for $16, the limited time offering is made with graham cracker crust, pink ice cream and toasted lemon meringue.
The hotel is also partnering with Zoya, the world’s longest wearing natural nail polish, to offer pink manis and pedis with Zoya polish at Sea Wellness Spa for the cause. Those who make a donation of $5 or more will receive a custom Zoya trio box with a pink polish, ultra glossy topcoat and base coat.
Proceeds from these offerings will go directly to Providence St. John’s Foundation for Breast Cancer. The hotel, along with sister property Shutters on the Beach, will light up in pink every night during the month of October to show support.

Boiling Crab helps fight childhood cancer
The Boiling Crab is stepping up to make a difference. In partnership with the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation and RIF Los Angeles, The Boiling Crab is launching a campaign during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, running through Oct.13.
Through this initiative, a portion of proceeds from all boiled shrimp and crawfish sales – whether in-store or online – will directly support pediatric cancer research.
The collaboration goes beyond just delicious food. The Boiling Crab is proud to partner with RIF Los Angeles, adapting their trademarked slogan “Good People Helping Good People” to “Good People Helping Good Kids” for this initiative. Together, the groups are releasing exclusive t-shirts, with proceeds benefiting the NPCF.
