Los Angeles County Assessor Jeff Prang was recently elected as president of the California Assessors Association at the annual conference in San Luis Obispo. Prang’s term as president begins on Jan. 1, 2025.

Prang has served as assessor since 2014 and has held positions of leadership within the CAA for many years. The CAA was established in 1902 and is comprised of the 58 county assessors in California. The CAA focuses on establishing uniform and standardized policies and practices in property appraisal to achieve greater accuracy and fairness. The CAA also supports legislation that advances its mission.

“It is a tremendous honor to be selected by my peers to hold this position of responsibility,” Prang said. “Collectively, our association helps guide public policy that assures fairness, accuracy and standardization in public policy related to the equitable assessment of property.”

Prang has implemented sweeping reforms intended to ensure integrity in the Assessor’s Office. He led a multi-year effort to upgrade the office’s technology platform from an antiquated mainframe system to a cloud-based system. For information, visit assessor.lacounty.gov.
