The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station is investigating a fatal collision on Fountain Avenue, which involved two vehicles and occurred near the Spaulding Avenue intersection. The incident occurred between 4-5 p.m. on Oct. 10.
According to the sheriff’s department, a male driver of a Ford SUV traveling north on Spaulding Avenue collided with a man driving another Ford SUV, which also had a female passenger in the front seat. The department said that the passenger was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is uncertain, and the investigation is ongoing. The department has asked anyone with information regarding the collision to contact traffic investigators by calling (310)358-4038.
“I am deeply saddened by the horrific two-vehicle accident that occurred last night on Fountain Avenue, that resulted in the death of one person and others being hospitalized,” West Hollywood Mayor John Erickson said on Oct. 11. “I am praying for the victims and their families, and I will become even more vigilant in bringing to the forefront the need for our city to take more aggressive and immediate steps to make our streets safer for people in cars, on bikes and on foot. We must put an end to the reckless use of Fountain Avenue as a freeway between Los Angeles and the Westside.”
