Kings Road Park in West Hollywood debuted in this photograph in the July 8, 1999, issue of the Beverly Press and Park Labrea News. Located at 1000 N. Kings Road, it was the first park to open in West Hollywood since the city was incorporated in 1984. City officials described the .5-acre park as a “passive recreation area” with shady picnic spaces, winding paths, benches for relaxing, a playground for children and a community meeting room. The city of West Hollywood spent $365,000 to complete the park, according to the accompanying article. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on July 17, 1999.
