The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is offering updates about construction along the D Line subway extension project.

Street restoration work is ongoing at and around the existing subway station at Wilshire/Western and the new station at Wilshire/La Brea. Wilshire Boulevard is reduced to two lanes in each direction throughout July between Highland Avenue and Detroit Street to accommodate street-level work.

For approximately three months, a K-rail work zone will be implemented in the middle lanes of Wilshire Boulevard between Fairfax and Spaulding avenues, and Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction in the area. A closure on Orange Grove Avenue south of Wilshire Boulevard will be removed, opening the street to northbound traffic. However, a construction fence west of the Fairfax Avenue intersection will remain in place.

Work is ongoing at the Wilshire/La Cienega station. Through Sunday, Aug. 4, Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to a single lane in each direction overnight from 8 p.m.-7 a.m. between La Cienega and San Vicente boulevards. Eastbound Wilshire Boulevard will be intermittently closed overnight. The work supports ongoing waterline construction along Wilshire Boulevard. Northbound La Cienega Boulevard will also be reduced to one lane overnight between Wilshire Boulevard and Clifton Way.

Crews are also restoring streets and sidewalks along Wilshire Boulevard near La Cienega Boulevard. A K-rail work zone will remain in place along the north side of the street.

Eastbound Wilshire Boulevard will be intermittently reduced to a single lane between Le Doux Road and Hamilton Drive from 8 p.m.-7 a.m. on weeknights, and 6 a.m.-10 p.m. on weekends to support access to underground areas near the Wilshire/La Cienega intersection.

At the Wilshire/Rodeo station, crews are working on Wilshire Boulevard between South Beverly and Cañon drives and on South Beverly Drive. Construction is ongoing 24 hours on the subway station. Lanes on Wilshire Boulevard will be intermittently reduced between El Camino and Crescent drives. Lane reductions will also occur on South Beverly and Reeves drives near Wilshire Boulevard.

At the Century City/ Constellation station, crews are pouring structural concrete through September. A new traffic control plan to support utility relocation work is in place. Intermittent lane closures will occur on Constellation Boulevard through November.
