Lawyers and judges were in harmony as the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic and Legal Voices celebrated their 15th anniversary on June 22 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Led by founder-conductor Gary S. Greene, Esq., the orchestra and choir performed classical favorites and songs from Broadway musicals. The concert raised funds for the L.A. County Bar Association’s Counsel for Justice and the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation to provide legal services to those who cannot afford them and legal scholarships for students in need.

The concert was dedicated to the memory of legendary songwriter and L.A. Lawyers Philharmonic honorary member Richard M. Sherman (1928-2024). The evening paid tribute to Academy Award-winning composer Sherman with a special performance of a “Mary Poppins” medley, in celebration of the musical’s 60th anniversary.

The program also included “South Pacific,” “The Planets” and Beethoven’s “Emperor Concerto” performed by Helen B. Kim, Esq. Tony Award-winner Michael Maguire, Esq., was featured in songs from “The Music Man” and “Les Misérables.” The orchestra and chorus performed a Broadway medley that featured Irving Berlin’s “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” and Gershwin’s “Someone to Watch Over Me” led by choral director Jim Raycroft. Radio personality Bill Handel, Esq., of KFI, served as master of ceremonies.
