. The Petersen Automotive Museum announced the launch of “Shwoopy Loops,” a new car exhibition that features unique designs by an artist and visitors alike.

“Shwoopy Loops” began for Daniel Manacher as a way to find peace through meditative, infinite, mesmerizing design. As the design began to cover his Camaro, he realized that the automobile stimulated the imagination of the community. Manacher’s dream was to have people engage with his artwork in order to meld their vision with his. He decided to have the car wrapped to welcome people to create their own designs on his Camaro. He particularly enjoyed having children participate, bringing unfettered joy as they made their own marks on his car.

“It started with me drawing on my car, and now everyone is drawing on my car,” Manacher said. “And that’s really what it’s all about – the creativity and the community that is built around this sort of unified canvas.”

Manacher’s Camaro is now part of the Petersen Museum’s auto collection as a community-engaging, interactive vehicle.
