“It Always Seems Impossible Until It’s Done” reads a brightly lit neon sign stretching across a wall inside MelroseINC’s new expanded space at 6618 Melrose Ave. It is a proverb that owner Sandy Nasseri said guided her as the project was completed over the past four years.

The computer store, which has been at 6614 Melrose Ave. since 2003, was looted by rioters during the summer of 2020. While it quickly reopened for business, Nasseri said it marked the start of a plan to expand into a space next to the original Melrose Mac store and create a place for the community. The new MelroseINC space includes a computer lab as well as conference rooms, executive offices and a rooftop space for special events. Nasseri said it is the culmination of years of determination and hard work.

“It is significant because it symbolizes the rebirth. We created our space and we actually expanded so that we have a rooftop and we have executive offices. Something always good comes from something tragic,” Nasseri said.

Nasseri received a proclamation from the city at the grand opening presented by Michelle Flores, field deputy for Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, 5th District. The store is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year and employs approximately 80 people. The new building includes approximately 5,000 square feet of space.

“Every nail hammered … was a step forward to reclaiming what was lost, and now it’s completely rebuilt,” Nasseri said. “I stand here proud and humbled to present this revitalized space. It will serve as a hub for innovation, collaboration and creativity here at Melrose. This isn’t just a reopening, it is a celebration of resilience, community and boundless possibilities that lie ahead.”
