All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills is holding a day of worship and music in observance of Pentecost on Sunday, May 19. The day will begin with the Pentecost Festival Choral Eucharist at 10 a.m., followed by a chamber music concert at 5 p.m. featuring distinguished French organist Maurice Clerc.

The choral service marks a vibrant celebration of Pentecost, the occasion when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles and followers of Jesus Christ, as described in the Book of Acts. The special service will feature the All Saints’ Choir and music by Morten Lauridsen and Dr. Craig Phillips, leading the congregation in an uplifting and spiritually enriching liturgy. Members of the public are invited to join the service and joyous celebration of Pentecost.

Clerc, a renowned organist with a remarkable career spanning decades, is the organist emeritus of the Cathedral of Dijon, where he served from 1972 through 2018. During his tenure, he played an essential role in the restoration of the grand organ at the cathedral, dedicating countless hours to its revival.

Clerc has captivated audiences across four continents, performing in some of the world’s most prestigious venues such as the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City and St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice. His extensive experience and passion for organ music have made him a distinguished figure in classical music. Additionally, Clerc has shared his expertise as a professor at the Conservatoire de Dijon for 33 years.

The concert at All Saints’ Episcopal Church offers a unique opportunity to experience Clerc’s masterful performance in an intimate chamber music setting.
