The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in Exposition Park will host its 38th annual Bug Fair on May 18-19, from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The two-day festival celebrates local and exotic insects, including the jungle nymph walking stick, this year’s featured insect.

Visitors will experience upclose encounters with crawly creatures, meet scientists who will share their knowledge of insects and benefits to the environment, interact with giant bee puppets, watch an insect-focused cooking demonstration and can get handson with craft activities. Visitors can explore the museum’s diorama halls, which will be filled with exhibitors and vendors offering everything from live exotic insect collections to unique bug-related products. Also, Bug Fair participants can relax in the Second Floor Mammal Hall to view a free screening of the National Geographic series “A Real Bug’s Life,” an incredible adventure into different insect worlds inspired by the World of Disney and Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life.”
