Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member Nick Melvoin has announced that the school board has approved a $9.2- million investment in the exterior of the Melrose Math, Science and Technology Magnet School.

The funds will modernize the school’s outdoor area, creating a new natural landscape. It will fund tree planting, asphalt painting and repaving of cracked surfaces, improvements to accessibility, drainage and irrigation systems, exterior painting and upgraded fencing. Playground equipment will be replaced, and Americans with Disability Act upgrades will be implemented.

“I’m thrilled to bring this $9.35- million investment to Melrose Math, Science and Technology Magnet. This upgrade will ensure that the exterior of the school better reflects the incredible teaching and learning taking place inside its classrooms,” Melvoin said.
