Los Angeles Dodgers vice president and general manager Buzzie Bavasi was shown with a rendering of Dodger Stadium in the March 31, 1960, issue of the Park Labrea News. The article described the $12-million stadium, which was being built at the time in Chavez Ravine, and praised Dodgers owner Walter O’Malley, who moved the team to Los Angeles from Brooklyn in 1958. The state-of-the-art Dodger Stadium opened in April 1962 and has been the team’s home ever since. This year, the 2024 Major League Baseball season begins on March 28, with the Dodgers facing the St. Louis Cardinals on opening day at 1:10 p.m. in the first of a four-game series running through March 31 at Dodger Stadium.
