Los Angeles Police Department investigators are seeking any additional victims of a photographer with a studio on Larchmont Boulevard who was arrested on March 4 for an alleged sexual assault.

Detectives believe Kenneth Howard Dolin, 64, sexually assaulted a 29-year-old woman on Jan. 10 at his studio at 530 N. Larchmont Blvd., north of Beverly Boulevard. He was arrested and booked for penetration with a foreign object. Detective Brent Hopkins, with the LAPD’s Operations-West Bureau Special Assault Section, said the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office asked the police department to gather more evidence before filing formal charges against Dolin. The LAPD released a bulletin on March 8 about the alleged crime and asked any additional victims to come forward. Hopkins said Dolin was released pending formal charges being filed.

“It’s just an arrest at this point,” Hopkins said. “People are already starting to come forward. We want people to know that they should speak up.”

Hopkins said Dolin is a well-known photographer and acting coach. The detective said one of the services Dolin offers is nude photography, and it was during one of those sessions in January that the alleged assault occurred.

“The victim felt they had to comply, and that crosses the line,” Hopkins said.

He added that Dolin was the subject of two prior similar complaints in 2020, with victims coming forward to report incidents that allegedly occurred in 2015 and 2017. Hopkins said the statute of limitations had expired when the reports were made and no charges were filed involving those alleged crimes. He said it is common for victims of sexual assault to come forward years later due to trauma and other factors, but police encourage pro-mpt reporting so criminal charges can be swiftly pursued. “Unfortunately, [non-reporting] is not unheard of. This time, we were able to act on it,” Hopkins said. “We want to hear from as many people as possible.”
