Mallory Lewis has carried on her mother Shari’s legacy with the puppet

The Los Angeles Breakfast Club announced the initiation of Mallory Lewis, daughter of beloved children’s show host, creator and puppeteer Shari Lewis, and cherished puppet Lamb Chop, as honorary members. The induction will take place at the club’s April 3 breakfast meeting during which Lewis will serve as guest speaker.

Shari Lewis, renowned for her work as creator, writer, producer, host and puppeteer of “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along,” among other credits, was a 13-time Emmy Award-winner, Peabody Award Honoree and recipient of the Kennedy Center Award for Excellence. After her death in 1998, Mallory Lewis, an Emmywinner herself who playfully identifies as “Lamb Chop’s sister,” began performing with Lamb Chop at live events and for charitable causes.

Mallory and Lamb Chop have also been reaching new audiences on social media with over 350K followers, going viral on both Instagram (@mallorylewisandlambchop) and TikTok (@yourfavlambchop).

Lewis looks forward to the recognition and celebration of her mother’s life and legacy in a forthcoming documentary, currently on the festival circuit and to be released later this year, as well as in the book Mallory recently coauthored, “Shari Lewis & Lamb Chop: The Team That Changed Children’s Television.” Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the event, following the presentation.
