The U.S. Department of Homeland Security served a search warrant of rapper and record executive Sean Combs’ property in the Holmby Hills area of L.A. on Monday, March 25. Armed Homeland Security Investigations agents could be seen entering Combs’ mansion in the 200 block of South Mapleton Drive, in a neighborhood adjacent to Beverly Hills. The search occurred while HSI agents also raided Combs’ property in Miami.
“Earlier [on March 25] Homeland Security Investigations New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami and our local law enforcement partners. We will provide further information as it becomes available,” HSI said in a statement.
HSI has not confirmed details of the investigation, though it comes as Combs faces allegations of rape, sexual assault and sex trafficking. Civil lawsuits filed in 2023 accuse the rapper – who is also known by stage names “Puff Daddy,” “P. Diddy” and “Diddy” – of a history of violence and abuse dating back to the beginning of his music career in the 1990s. Combs has denied the allegations.
Combs’ lawyer Aaron Dyer criticized the raids in a statement on Tuesday, March 26, calling them a “gross overuse of military-level force” and a “witch hunt.”
Dyer said that Combs was not detained and is cooperating with authorities.
Combs has not been federally charged or prosecuted, and it is unclear what the next steps in the investigation will be.
