Actress Sophia Loren, accompanied by actor Charlton Heston, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in this photograph in the Feb. 3, 1994, issue of the Beverly Press and Park Labrea News. Loren’s star was unveiled at 7060 Hollywood Blvd., between La Brea and Sycamore avenues, on a section of the Walk of Fame that was newly renovated at the time. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which oversees the Walk of Fame, added 150 new stars in 1994 along Hollywood Boulevard near La Brea Avenue, and Loren’s star was the first star in the area. The chamber left most of the stars blank for future dedication ceremonies, and at the time also unveiled stars for celebrities Katy Jurado, Spanky McFarland, Mamie Van Doren, Sidney Poitier, Irving Berlin, Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Dan Haggerty, Lloyd Bridges, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Jon Provost.
