Metro is offering information about work at many other locations along the subway line under Wilshire Boulevard. Beginning the weekend of March 1 and continuing for four consecutive weekends, including two contingency weekends, workers will remove concrete deck panels on Wilshire Boulevard between Western Avenue and Manhattan Place. Work will run from 9 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday. Wilshire Boulevard will be fully closed to traffic between Western Avenue and Manhattan Place. The sidewalk on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard will be closed. However, a pedestrian detour will be in place on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard.
Through March, a K-rail work zone will be implemented in the middle of Wilshire Boulevard between Courtyard Place and Masselin Avenue. The work zone will support construction activities in the tunnel below Wilshire Boulevard. Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Ridgely Drive and Curson Avenue. All sidewalks in the area will remain open.
Street restoration near the Wilshire/La Brea station requires Wilshire Boulevard to be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Highland and La Brea avenues, and may be intermittently reduced to one lane in each direction.
At the Wilshire/Fairfax station, northbound Orange Grove Avenue will be closed south of Wilshire Boulevard for station entrance construction. Southbound Orange Grove Avenue will remain open to Eighth Street. Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction at La Jolla Avenue.
At the Wilshire/La Cienega station, work is ongoing in staging yards and at street level along the north side of Wilshire Boulevard. The north sidewalk will remain closed between Gale Drive and La Cienega Boulevard through at least March. Access to 8447 Wilshire Blvd. will be maintained from the sidewalk and Hamilton Drive.
Construction remains ongoing on the Wilshire/Rodeo subway station. Excavation near Cañon Drive will start on March 4 and continue for approximately three weeks. Lane and sidewalk closures will be implemented as crews conduct appendage excavation, pile cap beam installation, decking, sound wall restoration and pipe repairs adjacent to the Cañon Drive staging yard. Westbound Wilshire Boulevard may be reduced to two lanes and the sidewalk near the construction site will be closed. A pedestrian detour will be implemented and a temporary noise barrier will be installed to help mitigate disruptions.
Street-level work is ongoing near Wilshire Boulevard and Beverly Drive, which will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the area. During excavation, Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction between El Camino and Crescent drives. The work is expected to continue through the end of March.
Near the Century City/Constellation station, utility work and station construction are ongoing, and traffic control is in place around the station. Left turns are restricted from northbound Avenue of the Stars onto westbound Constellation Boulevard. Avenue of the Stars will also be reduced to one lane north and southbound at Constellation Boulevard.
