Police are searching for a gunman who shot two people during a party on Feb. 11 at a short-term rental property in the Hollywood Hills.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Mike Lopez said authorities received a call shortly after midnight about a shooting at the residence in the 1600 block of North Crescent Heights Boulevard, located north of Sunset Boulevard and east of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. Officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds and they were taken to a hospital in stable condition, Lopez said.
“Through our preliminary investigation, it was determined it was a rental where they had a large number of people,” he said. “It’s unknown if it’s gang related.”
Lopez said officers spoke to the individual who rented the house, and depending on the outcome of the investigation, it will be determined if the party violated city laws and authorities may pursue prosecution. He added that other people at the party were uncooperative. There is no information about the motive for the shooting or a suspect description, he said. Officers located and confiscated two firearms in a bag hidden outside the property.
“There were some firearms located at the rear of the yard, and that is part of the investigation,” Lopez added. “At this point, it remains under investigation.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives with the LAPD’s Hollywood Division at (213)972-2971.
