Flowers were placed at the Hollywood Walk of Fame star of legendary radio personality Jim Ladd, who died on Dec. 16 at the age of 75.

Ladd was remembered for his long career as a disc jockey working at KMET and KLOS radio stations in Los Angeles, and most recently SiriusXM, hosting the Deep Tracks program. He was the inspiration for “The Last DJ,” the title track on Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 2002 album.

Ladd was also an actor who appeared in “Say Anything” (1989), “Tequila Sunrise” (1988) and “Defendor” (2009), according imdb.com.

Ladd’s star, located at 7018 Hollywood Blvd., was dedicated on May 6, 2005.
