The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has been awarded a grant for its DUI Training and Prosecution Section, also known as DTAPS. The California Office of Traffic Safety provided more than $2 million in grants to Los Angeles County in October to combat impaired driving.
“Driving under the influence continues to pose a serious threat to public safety, and it is our duty to pursue justice for victims and hold offenders accountable,” District Attorney George Gascón said.
The grant will partially fund a drug recognition expert in the Distgrict Attorney’s Office’s Bureau of Investigation. The expert will be made available to all deputy district attorneys for DUI-related cases.
