A car crashed into the entrance of Jones Hollywood Café at 7205 Santa Monica Blvd. at approximately 7 p.m. on Nov. 14, causing significant damage to the front of the building. The restaurant, which is located at the northwest corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Formosa Avenue in West Hollywood, was open when the collision occurred. Two people sustained minor injuries but did not need to be taken to a hospital, said Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Esteban Benitez.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Law enforcement authorities did not disclose whether drugs or alcohol was involved. West Hollywood authorities red-tagged the building due to structural damage near the entrance and damage to the masonry, declaring it unoccupiable until repairs are made.
