Re “L.A. could not have been nicer,” by Chris Erskine, Oct. 12 issue

I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated Chris Erskine’s Oct. 12 article, not only because it was entertaining as usual, but also because the takeaway was really interesting, thought-provoking and profound.

I don’t know who figured out to repeat that part of the article in bold as the takeaway, but that was perfect.

I also enjoy your Notable Quotes section and I am glad that you pepper your paper with things that are interesting in different ways.
