The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles presents the 54th annual Exhibition of Korean Artists Association of Southern California from Friday, Sept. 15, through Friday, Sept. 29. The exhibit will open with a reception on Sept. 15 from 7-9 p.m. at the Korean Cultural Center Art Gallery, 5505 Wilshire Blvd.
Since its inception in 1964, Korean Artists Association of Southern California has been involved with exhibitions promoting cultural exchange and harmony between Korea and other ethnic groups. The association has encouraged younger generations to explore their artistic talent through juried student exhibitions and Korean-American exhibitions. Younger artists have joined the group, expanding the association. The special exhibition will feature fresh new ideas and designs as well as more refined and sophisticated traditional art. The 54th anniversary show will feature works by 68 artists including paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics and installation arts.
“2023 is very special to KAASC and Korean artists in the United States as it marks the 70th anniversary of the ROK-US alliance and the 120th anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States,” KCCLA director Sangwon Jung said. “I eagerly anticipate that this year’s exhibition will showcase the passion and talent of Korean artists who have continued their creative endeavors across Southern California.”
The exhibition will be open to the public. KCCLA is located at 5505 Wilshire Blvd. For information, visit kccla.org.
