The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s West Hollywood Station has announced details for the annual Community Academy, which will take place over six consecutive Wednesday evenings from Sept. 6 to Oct. 18.

The Community Academy offers West Hollywood residents an inside look at the operations of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. Attendees will gain a comprehensive knowledge of patrol operations and learn how the station’s specialty teams address mental health challenges in the community. Participants will be introduced to specialized units including SWAT and the K9 unit, and will experience firsthand what it’s like to work in the field during a ride-along with a deputy.

The Community Academy is also an opportunity to connect with personnel from the West Hollywood Station and engage with fellow West Hollywood residents.
