The Getty Center’s annual Garden Concerts for Kids begin on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5-6, at 4 p.m. with Renee & Jeremy.

Head to the Central Garden to hear indie-folk originals and covers that transform classic songs into quiet mantras. Solo artists in their own right, Renee Stahl and Jeremy Toback (also the original bassist of cult grunge band Brad) combine to create a flavor of harmony all their own.

The series continues on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12-13, at 4 p.m. with Sonia De Los Santos. Singing in Spanish and English, De Los Santos exudes the joy she sings about with music inspired by Latin American rhythms such as son jarocho, cumbia and salsa, as well as folk traditions from the United States. Her messages of finding hope and connection in a global community inspire and excite children and adults of all backgrounds.

Pierce Freelon will perform Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 19-20, at 4 p.m. Blending hip-hop, electronic jazz and soul, Freelon’s dynamic sound is inspired by his journey as a millennial dad and is crafted for modern families. Freelon, originally from Durham, North Carolina, founded Galactic South, a boutique children’s media company, and Blackspace, an Afrofuturist digital makerspace for youth.

Guests are welcome to bring a picnic blanket and food, and food and beverages will be available for purchase onsite. Lawn chairs are not permitted. The Getty Center is located at 1200 Getty Center Drive. For information, visit getty.edu.
