Cedars-Sinai and blackdoctor .org will host a virtual community conversation on Thursday, Aug. 10, from 5-6 p.m. for families of students heading back to school.

“Prepping for a Healthy School Year,” a one-hour online discussion, will include experts from Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s offering guidance about school physicals, vaccinations, scoliosis screenings and teen mental health. Medical experts will also offer advice in managing and preventing common pediatric health issues such as colds, flu, allergies and asthma.

Ellis Dean, director of digital programming and production for blackdoctor.org, will moderate the program with Drs. Michelle Escovedo, Shazia Lutfeali and Priya Soni, and registered nurse Meliza Perales, of Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s.
