Twenty picklers entered the 2023 Beverly Hills Picklefest Contest on Aug. 6 at the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market. First-place winners were awarded in the Best Dill Pickle in Beverly Hills and “I Can Pickle That!” categories.

Arts and Culture Commission vice chair Karla Gordy Bristol, left, joined Recreation and Parks Commission chair Myra Lurie; Brooke Klass, first-place winner in the Best Dill Pickle in Beverly Hills category; Beverly Hills City Councilwoman Sharona Nazarian; Kelly Cox and Shaahin Dadjoo, first-place winner of the “I Can Pickle That!” category; Beverly Hills Mayor Julian Gold, Councilman John Mirisch and last year’s first-place winner, Ron Sasiela, at the farmers’ market. The first-place winner received $200, second place received $100, and third place was awarded $50.

Picklefest is held in conjunction with the weekly Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market, an outdoor certified market along the 9300 block of Civic Center Drive offering California-grown fresh and seasonal fruits, vegetables, juices, breads and specialty items.
