Students in the eighth-11th grades who are looking to lead and become invested in global issues are encouraged to join the 2023-24 Korean American Coalition Model United Nations Virtual Program.
Applications are open, and the deadline to apply is Aug. 20. The program runs from September 2023 through May 2024. Classes are 2.5 hours long and are held once weekly online.
KAC’s program includes weekly virtual classes, in-person Model United Nations conferences, an annual community advocacy project and a student-led internal conference. Participants gain life-long relationships with like-minded peers while building professional and personal confidence. That develop skills in public speaking, research, writing, critical analysis, negotiation and leadership. KAC MUN is the longest consecutively running Korean American Model United Nations program.
KAC MUN students have been accepted to Stanford, Princeton, Columbia, Harvard, Duke, Dartmouth, Boston University, USC, University of California, Berkeley and UCLA.
The nonprofit Korean American Coalition Los Angeles was established in 1983 to promote the civic and civil rights interests of the Korean American community. For information, visit kacla.org.
