Work is ongoing throughout the project, and Metro is advising about upcoming construction along Wilshire Boulevard that will impact traffic. At Wilshire/La Cienega, intersection weekend closures will take place through August to support deck removal and street restoration work. The closures will run from Friday at 8 p.m. through Monday at 7 a.m. Access to La Cienega Boulevard will be maintained from Clifton Way and Gregory Way. Motorists are encouraged to use Robertson and San Vicente boulevards, and Olympic Boulevard, Third Street and Burton Way, as detours around the work.

Construction will proceed at the eastern end of the project, where work is occurring in construction staging yards for the subway stations, and in street-level work zones. Crews are working through August in K-rail work zones in the center of Wilshire Boulevard near Rimpau Boulevard. Intermittent lane reductions may be necessary on Wilshire Boulevard near Rimpau Boulevard on weekends from 7 a.m.-11 p.m.

Near Wilshire/La Brea, work is ongoing within two staging yards and at street level. A work zone is in place on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard between La Brea and Sycamore avenues. Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Highland and La Brea avenues.

At Wilshire/Fairfax, a K-rail work zone will be in place through September on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard, including part of the sidewalk. Traffic on Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Spaulding Avenue and San Diego Way. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the north sidewalk.

Farther west, Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction at La Jolla Avenue for approximately two years. A K-rail enclosure will be implemented on the west side of the Wilshire/La Jolla intersection to support cross passage construction.

Station backfilling activities may continue in July around the Wilshire/La Cienega station on weeknights from 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Strut removal, concrete and material deliveries, instrumentation, utility work and street maintenance will also be ongoing in July. Work on rooms and passageways adjacent to the main station known as appendage structures will occur on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Tower Drive. Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Le Doux Road and San Vicente Boulevard.

New work is also scheduled in Beverly Hills in July. Station appendage structure construction, piling and decking is planned near the Wilshire/Rodeo station.

Potholing work on South Canon Drive in preparation for appendage structure construction will begin on July 10. The work will be implemented in stages and requires lane and sidewalk closures on South Canon Drive.

Piling and decking work are also planned on South Beverly Drive at Wilshire Boulevard. The work is anticipated to begin on July 21 and will require a 59-hour full closure of South Beverly Drive at Wilshire Boulevard for five consecutive weekends beginning at 8:15 p.m. on Friday through 7 a.m. on Monday. Lane closures may be implemented on eastbound Wilshire Boulevard to facilitate the work. Signage will indicate pedestrian detour routes when construction activities require full sidewalk closures. Similar piling work on South Canon Drive at Wilshire Boulevard is anticipated to begin in August.

Crews will also be working on the installation of electrical feeds to the station and station construction at Wilshire/Rodeo. Lanes will be reduced on Wilshire Boulevard in the area.

At the Century City/Constellation station, utility work continues to progress as well as the relocation of a sewer and storm drain from the project area. The work is expected to continue through August. Left turns are restricted from northbound Avenue of the Stars onto westbound Constellation Boulevard. Avenue of the Stars will also be reduced to one lane north and southbound at Constellation Boulevard.
