A fire caused heavy damage to a vacant single-family home at 1607 N. Vista St. in Hollywood on July 1, and the cause remains under investigation. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said the fire was reported at 5:34 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find flames in the structure and extinguished the blaze in 29 minutes. No injuries were reported and nobody was found on the property. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety yellow-tagged the structure, deeming it uninhabitable except under certain circumstances involving interior work.
