Beverly Hills Public Works crews are putting the final touches on new bike lanes on Doheny Drive between Burton Way and Whitworth Drive, which they expect to finish by the end of July, transportation planner Jennifer Holzer Carpenter said.

Street parking will be impacted during the project, as crews of up to six people work on the project, and traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction, Carpenter said.

“Residents can expect to get in and out of driveways as needed,” she said.

The new bike lanes will not replace existing parking spaces, Carpenter added.

She said the Doheny Drive bike lanes were highlighted as a key part of the city’s Complete Streets Plan adopted in April 2021, and staff previously conducted outreach by presenting conceptual designs to the Parking and Traffic Commission and the City Council, and highlighting the project during National Bike Month in May.

The new bike lanes will connect to other bike lanes in the city on Clifton Way, Charleville Boulevard and Gregory Way.
