The Hammer Museum will hold its annual Bloomsday celebration on Friday, June 16, at 7:30 p.m., honoring author James Joyce and his landmark book “Ulysses.”

Now in its 14th year at the Hammer Museum, Bloomsday is part of a global celebration of Joyce. The lively event features a cast of veteran actors delivering dramatic readings from the novel interspersed with songs.

The readings are followed by festivities in the museum’s courtyard including live music and Guinness on tap. A cash bar opens at 6:30 p.m. and Rattle the Knee will perform Irish music. A staged reading will be held at 7:30 p.m. inside the Billy Wilder Theater, followed by more festivities in the courtyard.
