In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills has announced its 2023 artist-in-residence with interdisciplinary artist Mary Lai, featuring an immersive installation titled “Unlock Your Dreams.”

With over two decades of experience in the creative industry, Lai’s art installation at W Los Angeles serves as her first solo exhibition and largest artistic endeavor to date. As the artist-in-residence at the hotel for the next year, Lai’s art will line the walls of the 297-room property featuring over 20 large-scale pieces, ranging from traditional fine art to digital, mural to sculpture, creating an immersive and welcoming viewing experience within the bustling hotel. Lai encourages viewers to “Unlock Your Dreams,” providing vibrant inspiration that blends nostalgia and fantasy.

Over 175 LA-based artists, tastemakers and celebrities came to W Los Angeles for the unveiling of the exhibition, including television personality and personal collector of Lai’s work Lisa Ling. Lai took to Instagram to announce the collaboration.

“I can’t believe the day has come to launch my Artist Residency with over 20 artworks, a large-scale sculpture, mural and a digital art gallery bringing together the art community,” she wrote. “Come experience it for yourself!”
