Re “Traffic calming measures get mixed reactions on Rossmore,” April 27
As Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky seeks to reduce speeding and promote safety on Rossmore, we also need her help on South Citrus Avenue between Wilshire and Olympic.
This route serves as a speedway for cars bypassing Highland. Despite many requests, there’s only one speed bump in the three blocks. A car-counter survey would demonstrate the overwhelming amount of a.m. and p.m. traffic. With crowded street parking already because of businesses on Wilshire, and massive BMW car loaders regularly idling on the street, the excessive traffic is dangerous for everyone. There have been accidents at the Olympic/South Citrus intersection, and many more at the Wilshire/South Citrus intersection, where drivers compete to enter and exit both streets as well as the retail center (Starbucks) and the Beverly Hills BMW entrance.
