The First-In Fire Foundation celebrated Fire Service Day on May 13 by visiting Fire Station 61, located at 5821 W. Third St. The foundation presented firefighters with hamburgers and buns donated by Diamond Bakery. Ukrainian flags were placed on the burgers, and cupcakes decorated in the national colors of Ukraine were provided as an acknowledgement of the lifesaving work of firefighters during the war in that country. The First-In Fire Foundation supports the LAFD with donations of food and equipment. Supporters include Councilwoman Katy Young Yaroslavsky, 5th District; the Original Farmers Market; Huntington Meats; Hackman Capital Partners and Television City.

“We are honored to join forces with LAFD, LAPD, L.A. County Fire Department and committed local firefighters including Project Joint Guardian as we together support the firefighters locally and around the world exemplified by courageous Ukrainian firefighters and paramedics in an ongoing humanitarian mission,” First-In Fire Foundation president Lyn MacEwen Cohen said.
