Cinespia, Los Angeles’ favorite cinematic experience presented by Amazon Studios, is returning for its 22nd season at L.A. State Historic Park and The Greek Theatre, kicking off a summer of programming with “The Lost Boys” (June 2), ‘The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie” (June 10) and “She’s All That” (June 16). Cinespia will once again be partnering with Christopher Street West Association – which has produced the iconic LA Pride celebration for more than 50 years – to celebrate Pride month with a special screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Saturday, June 24 at L.A. State Historic Park.
Previously announced screenings for May and Memorial Day Weekend include “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” (May 19), “Mrs. Doubtfire” (May 26) “10 Things I Hate About You” (May 27).
“We’re thrilled to be back for our 22nd season with an amazing lineup of fan-favorite films,” Cinespia founder John Wyatt said. “We’re super excited to be back at The Greek along with L.A. State Historic where we are hosting our annual Pride month screening in partnership with LA Pride. We’ve been celebrating Pride at Cinespia for as long as I can remember, and we’re excited to be bringing back Rocky Horror to fans.”
An exclusive new partnership with Tony’s Chocolonely will make Cinespia’s 2023 season a little sweeter. Their limited-edition, custom-wrapped collaboration chocolate bar designed by Cinespia’s Creative Director, Alia Penner, is filled with their popular and irresistible “Everything Bar” flavor and will be exclusively available to guests at concessions. The brand will also be onsite creating special moments at select screenings all season long, with chocolate at the ready to sample and share with guests.
“I love the colorful world of Tony’s Chocolonely and it feels like a perfect collaboration to bring the love of movies and chocolate to Cinespia,” Penner said. “I really did feel like I was Willy Wonka when I was designing them.”
The beer and wine bar and concession stands are returning along with the free photo booth that will feature dreamy scenes inspired by your favorite films. Cinespia DJs to spin onsite before and after the films.
